Major Successes

At Bourbon County REDI, we take great pride in our accomplishments and the progress we've made on our journey. Each of these accomplishments are all pointing towards a common goal, which is the betterment of Bourbon County and the municipalities within it. Throughout the years, our dedicated team has worked diligently to make Bourbon County an even better place to live and work.

On February 5th, 2024, we announced our successful facilitation and recruitment of Kansas Renewal Institute, a specialized healthcare business. This accomplishment not only means improved access to quality healthcare for our community but also brings significant employment opportunities. We are proud to contribute to the growth and well-being of our region.

Kansas Rocks Recreation Park was awarded with a check as part of Apex Wind Energy deal.

City of Fort Scott received a check to help with their new bike trail at Gunn Park.

Bourbon County REDI helped the city of Fort Scott to receive a grant in the amount of $33,000 for new state of the art storm sirens. The city plans to replace two sirens, one located on 6th and Steen, the other on Grant St.

On November 14, 2023, we announced an $800 Million Solar Development coming to our region. Hinton Creek Solar LLC is set to begin construction in late 2025 or early 2026.

The City of Bronson was awarded $10,000 to help renovate the Bronson Ball fields.

Bourbon County REDI is delighted to have written a grant for $4,000, which Walmart in Fort Scott presented to Bourbon County EMS on September 7, 2023.

Bourbon County REDI was happy to help facilitate a grant in the amount of $13,500 to obtain new AEDs for the City of Fort Scott through Timken Foundation.

Bourbon County REDI received a grant from the SparkGood Program through Walmart to help Bourbon County EMS obtain life-saving equipment. The grant provided G3 backup packs with intravenous cells, essential for carrying pharmaceuticals, oxygen, and intubation equipment.

Swinging for a Cause! Our REDI on the Green golf tournament was a hole-in-one success with all proceeds going towards scholarships for local students.

The Bourbon County fair was also awarded money the Apex Wind Energy deal in 2022.

Bourbon County REDI was able to assist the Fort Scott Fire Department in obtaining a grant in the amount of $21,500 from Timken foundation to purchase this ATV.

This photo captures the 1st Kansas Mural, a project that Bourbon County REDI proudly contributed to in securing funds. This remarkable piece of art, a tribute to bravery and resilience, graces the heart of Historic Fort Scott's downtown area.
